Sheryl, 48,  and Shannon Einhardt, 28, are a mother-daughter team that co-direct the St. Clair Shores dance studio, Dance Expressions.

Each has been teaching dance for many years. Sheryl has been teaching for over 30 years and Shannon has been teaching for over 15.

This mother-daughter provide a fun learning experience for many young girls and boys while also doing something they love. Many of their students also have gone on or want go on to careers involving dance.

Both show their love of dance through their teaching and through their own dancing.

Sheryl has taught Shannon a lot of what she knows about teaching, but their teaching styles are different. Shannon has a highly energetic teaching style while Sheryl’s teaching style is a lot softer but structured.

Shannon teaches the girls in her Junior Jazz the next move in their dance on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. They are learning the dance in order to practice their dancing skills.
Sheryl teaches her Elementary Tap students basic dance techniques on Thursday, October 10, 2013. These basic skills will help them proceed in dancing in future years.

Both teach their students the essential skills needed in dance and pass on their love of dance.

Both Sheryl and Shannon love what they do and they do it together. “Most of time its nice working with my mom because you get to work from home,” said Shannon. “It can be difficult sometimes, but overall I love working with her.”
